Small Coffee Shops "Reckoning" Ter Scott Comments.

Small coffee shops face 'reckoning'

After facing a boom in recent years, coffee shops are now facing a “reckoning,” writes The New York Times. There are 33,000 coffee shops in the US — a figure that includes major chains and smaller traditional stores — but the latter has seen fewer consumers as fast-food chains, grocery stores and more offer cheaper and specialty coffee alternatives. This year coffee shop growth is forecast to grow by a little more than 2%, the slowest rate in the last six years — a number that is predicted to continue declining in future years, particularly as the industry continues to consolidate.

As a business consultant, I've seen up and down cycles in all business types.  If you own a coffee shop (or multiple locations) contact me as I connections to get you more cash via tax incentives and expense reductions which have an immediate impact on your bottom line.
